David Tennant's Doctor Voted Greatest TV Character Of 21st Century



David Tennant's Doctor has been voted as the Greatest TV Character of the 21st Century in a poll held by Digital Spy.
Helped along by our readers, David soared straight to the top of the chart and managed to keep hold of the top spot until today's results were announced. And whilst we may only be 16 years in to the century not many of us will be around at the end of it so it's probably best we cast our votes today!

A whopping 35,000 people voted for the Tenth Doctor, the role that David is perhaps best known for.

David joined the show in 2005 as the Tenth incarnation of the Time Lord and went on to achieve global success with the part.
Over 4 years and 47 episodes David won critical acclaim, walking away from the show in January 2010 with an armfull of accolades including National Television Awards and a BAFTA Cymru.
Fans too were won and his Doctor was voted the best ever by reader's of Doctor Who Magazine.
In November 2009 the episode The Waters Of Mars gave BBC America their biggest ever ratings.
And in the UK over 10 Million people tuned in on 1st January 2010 to see the demise of David's Doctor as he regenrated.

The 23rd November 2013 saw the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who and marked the return of David Tennant to the TARDIS for a one of special episode.
The episode was simulcast to over 75 countries worldwide and streamed live in to cinemas across the globe.

In May 2016 three new audio adventures starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor were released by Big Finish.
