Melissa Rosenberg has already told fans of Marvel's Jessica Jones that supervillain Kilgrave definitely won't be back for season 2 of the acclaimed show. Now she's added that the producers won't find it easy to mirror the chilling standard that David Tennant set in his portrayal of the mind-controlling menace. Talking to press at the 2016 Summer Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour she praised David, saying,
"David Tennant's [Kilgrave], we'll never create that
again. That is one of the great iconic characters played by a profoundly
talented actor. The objective is not to match that, not to try to do that
again."
Melissa has previously said that Jessica has been changed by her encounters with Kilgrave and now has to move forward and deal with the consequences of the events of season 1. Even though Season 2 of Marvel's Jessica Jones won't arrive on Netflix until 2018, fans of the show will be happy to hear they'll be able to catch up with Jessica (Krysten Ritter) in Marvel's The Defenders, now in development and due in 2017.
Season 1 of Marvel's Jessica Jones can be watched worldwide via Netflix now.
