David Tennant features in a new 10 minute trailer released by the BBC to showcase their Shakespeare Festival. A raft of projects to mark the 400th anniversary of the Bard's death were announced at a press conference back in January including Shakespeare Live! hosted by David from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and broadcast live on BBC Two.
Talking at the launch, which was held at BBC Broadcasting House in London, David elaborated on what to expect from the event: "These characters in Shakespeare's stories are catnip for actors... Shakespeare Live! is a kind of variety bill. We've got some of the greatest classical actors around. Judi Dench will be there, Ian McKellen will be there. Live performance is what Shakespeare is all about. We have opera, we have ballet, we have hip-hop - all celebrating Shakespeare and what he's done for our cultural heritage."
