Spies Of Warsaw
In 1937 Europe is on the brink of another major war, and Germany's movements are being monitored closely. Buyers and sellers of military and political intelligence meet in a deadly game, and Warsaw is a centre of espionage activities involving both French and German agents.
Colonel Jean-François Mercier is newly arrived at the French embassy in Warsaw and is an active spy with a mission to find out Germany’s intentions. But in the midst of the danger and mistrust, Mercier meets and falls in love with the French-Polish Anna, a lawyer for the League of Nations. Can he risk giving his heart to a woman who could be a traitor and an enemy?
The series also stars Marcin Dorociński, Burn Gorman, Ellie Haddington and Anton Lesser. Spies of Warsaw is written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais and directed by Coky Giedroyc.
The second and final part airs on YLE TV1 on Tuesday 19th January from 21.30.
