David Tennant will be one of a host of stars contributing to this year's BBC Children In Need appeal. He will be a number of celebrities appearing during the appeal programme tomorrow night to tell viewers about some of the inspiring and exciting projects that have been funded by the charity, giving disadvantaged children and young people in the UK better life experiences and more opportunities.
Other celebrities also on hand to give the appeal's teddy bear mascot Pudsy a hand with the annual fundraiser include Dame Helen Mirren, Martin Freeman, Reggie Yates and singers Ellie Goulding and Marvin Humes. David has been involved with the charity on numerous occasions in the past, from starring in specially filmed Doctor Who segments to co-presenting the huge Children In Need concert in Manchester in 2011.
Children In Need is the BBC's own charity which aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK. It works by making grants to projects supporting children and young people to increase their life choices, to give them positive experiences and to give them more opportunities to reach their potentials. Currently BBC Children In Need supports 2500 projects which helped almost half a million children last year.
During the appeal show, viewers can expect to see special contributions from One Direction, the cast of Eastenders, comedian Harry Hill and the West End casts of Beautiful, Kinky Boots and Bend It Like Beckham. Call The Midwife gets a Strictly Come Dancing makeover and viewers can journey to a galaxy far, far away for an exclusive Star Wars sketch with C3PO and R2-D2 alongside Star Wars actor Warwick Davis. The evening will be hosted by BBC Children in Need Life President Sir Terry Wogan, who will be joined by Tess Daly, Fearne Cotton, Rochelle Humes and Nick Grimshaw.
The BBC are hoping that 2015 will be the biggest, most successful event yet and are calling on viewers to help them to break all records. Visit the Children In Need page to find out how you can donate this year and to see what other events have been going on that you can support.
Watch the BBC Children In Need Appeal Show tomorrow night on BBC One and BBC Two from 7.30pm GMT.
