David Tennant provides the voiceover for the new TV ad for the Children's Air Ambulance. This vital service which provides life-saving transport to critically ill children receives no government funding at all and relies on public donations for its continued existence.
The Air Ambulance Service say:
We’re doing everything we can to let people know about the
huge number of critically ill children in the UK who need an urgent
inter-hospital transfer to specialist treatment. The longer a [seriously ill] child is out of hospital, the greater the risk. Our helicopter flies fast and
serves as a flying intensive care unit especially for children. We fly about
four times faster than transport by road. When every second counts this can be
a matter of life and death.
Right now we can only reach one in every three children who
need us. Right now, we simply do not have the funding to run more than one
helicopter, or to run a 24/7 service. We need your help to reach them all,
right now. Please, give what you can today.
