As we told you back in April, David Tennant will be reprising his award-winning performance in Richard II in New York in 2016 when the Royal Shakespeare Company stage Shakespeare's Great Cycle Of Kings at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Now BAM have released more information confirming the performance dates and some of the other events that will be taking place to complement the season.
Marking the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, BAM, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and The Ohio State
University present King and Country: Shakespeare’s
Great Cycle of Kings, comprising the four plays Richard II; Henry IV, Part I; Henry IV, Part II; Henry V. Following a season at the Barbican Theatre in London, David Tennant returns in the title role of Richard II,
Antony Sher and Jasper Britton play Falstaff and Henry IV, respectively, in the
Henry IV plays, and Alex Hassell continues the journey of young Prince Hal, who
reaches maturity as Henry V in the final play of the tetralogy. The plays are directed by the RSC's Artistic Director Gregory Doran.
The Cycle runs at BAM Harvey Theater in Brooklyn from March 24th to May 1st 2016 with press
previews beginning April 1st. Tickets are expected to be priced $30, $70 and $110 for weekdays; $35, $75 and $125 for weekends, though BAM advises this may be subject to change.
