The BBC Two political drama The Politician's Husband continues on ABC in Australia tonight (Sunday 9th August) at 8.30pm. The series was first shown in Australia on the premium Foxtel channel BBC First.
The three part drama stars David Tennant as MP Aidan Hoynes who loses his cabinet post in a misjudged bid for the party leadership. At the same time he sees his wife, junior minister Freya, played by Emily Watson, begin to climb professionally. What follows is a dangerous game of lies and manipulation as the husband and wife jostle to gain the upper hand. The was written by Paula Milne and also stars Ed Stoppard, Jack Shepherd and Roger Allam.

Driven by a desire to avenge his own downfall, Aiden plots against his old friend Bruce. He is also spending more time at home looking after the children and particularly their Asperger's son, Noah. As he sits on the side-lines watching his wife's meteoric rise, Aiden is increasingly consumed with jealousy and paranoia. Unable to accept his wife's new-found success or forgive her betrayal, Aiden begins to plot Freya's downfall as well as Bruce's.
