David Tennant made his debut appearance in the award-winning kids' animated show Jake And The Never Land Pirates in the USA yesterday. He voiced the eponymous Dread in a brand new episode titled Dread The Evil Genie.
Fortunately UK viewers don't have too long to wait to see the Disney Junior show for themselves as it will be shown next week on the evening of Tuesday 14th July. But better still, Radio Times have posted an exclusive preview clip so you can get a first look at David as Dread in all his nefarious green skinned glory (clip will not be viewable on devices not compatible with Flash Player).
Jake And The Never Land Pirates is based in the world of Disney's Peter Pan franchise and follows the adventures of three young pirates, Jake, Izzy and Cubby and their parrot Skully as they compete with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee for treasure. In 'Dread the Evil Genie', Jake and the crew have to help their friend Pip the Pirate Genie as the fiendish Dread wants to drain his powers to boost his own.
Can Jake and pals see off the powerful genie? Will Pip be saved? And will Captain Hook find a valuable ally in Dread? Far be it from us to spoil the ending for you, but the scene looks set for Dread's return in a future episode...
Watch Jake And The Never Land Pirates on Disney Junior in the UK on Tuesday 14th July at 6.15pm BST. The episode is repeated on Saturday 18th, also at 6.15pm.
