USA: David Tennant's Episode Of Jake And The Never Land Pirates Premieres Monday 6th July

David Tennant will guest star in children's animated series Jake and the Never Land pirates as genie Dread in a brand new episode due to premiere next week. The episode, Dread The Evil Genie, will air as part of Disney Junior's Soaring Over Summer event on Monday 6th July instead of 14th July as previously advertised.

The episode sees Jake and his pirate pals rushing to the rescue of Pip the Pirate Genie after the fiendish Dread tries to capture him to drain him of his magic powers and boost his own evil strengths. 

You can watch David giving voice to the wicked Dread in Jake and the Never Land Pirates on Monday 6th July at 9am ET/PT on Disney Channel and at 7.30pm ET on Disney Junior in the USA.

The Soaring Over Summer multi-platform event began on June 29th on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in the USA and runs till Thursday 13th August. Every weekday at 9am ET/PT on Disney Channel and 7.30pm ET/PT on Disney Junior they will premiere a brand new episode of one of five of their hit series, rotating between Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Miles From Tomorrowland, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Henry Hugglemonster. The new episodes will also be made available online via Watch Disney Junior along with their Soaring Over Summer games arcade.

The interactive animated series Jake And The Never Land Pirates was launched in 2011 and is based on Disney's Peter Pan franchise, itself originating in the classic novel by J.M. Barrie. Young pirate Jake with friends Izzy and Cubby and parrot Skully spend their days competing with Captain Hook and Smee for treasure. Regular cast include Sean Ryan Fox, Megan Richie and Jadon Sand. Guest stars in the past have included Adam West, Lisa Loeb, Sharon Osbourne and Teri Hatcher while new guests over the summer are Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet from Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and veteran actor Malcolm McDowell.
