David Tennant was snapped on set in New York yesterday filming scenes with Mike Colter for Marvel's Jessica Jones, the thirteen part Netflix exclusive based on the MarvelMAX comic book series Alias.
Marvel's Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as the titular Jones, a former superhero who retired from the trade following a traumatic incident. Now working as a private detective in New York's Hell's Kitchen, she specialises in cases involving people with superpowers. However, a dark figure from her past is soon to return and send shockwaves through her world. David plays the enigmatic Kilgrave, a former spy turned supervillain. Other cast include Mike Colter as Luke Cage, soon to lead up his own Marvel series, Rachael Taylor as Patsy "Hellcat" Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as a mysterious figure who may turn out to be an ally of Jessica.
The show is the second of Marvel's four planned Defenders miniseries and will be released worldwide on Netflix in the autumn. Marvel's first Netflix exclusive, Daredevil, launched earlier this year, and work has just started on a second season. Marvel's Luke Cage and Marvel's Iron Fist are scheduled for 2016.
