According to IMDB, more names have been added to the cast of Metanoia, the new feature telling the story of radical Scottish psychologist R.D.Laing, written and directed by Robert Mullan. Harry Potter fans can celebrate a mini cast reunion as David Tennant will be reunited with Michael Gambon on the big screen for the first time since the 2005 movie Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire.
David has already been announced in the role of the so called 'Acid-Marxist' Laing in Metanoia, whose work revolutionised the understanding of mental illness and led the anti-psychiatry movement. His co-star is Elisabeth Moss, star of Mad Men and The West Wing.
New cast additions are:
- Michael Gambon (Sydney Kotok) - the veteran star of film, TV and stage is known to millions for his role as Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. He was most recently seen on TV as corrupt parish councillor Howard Mollison in the BBC's The Casual Vacancy and as photographer Henry Tyson in Sky Atlantic's Fortitude.
- David Bamber (Dr. Meredith) - star of the award winning series Rome and the BBC's What Remains, and recognisable to Doctor Who fans as Captain Quell from Mummy On The Orient Express.
- Olivia Poulet (Maria) - appeared in political comedy The Thick Of It and the spin-off movie In The Loop. Olivia has also written a BBC sitcom with Sarah Solemani.
- Adam Paul Harvey (Paul Zemmell) - best known for his role in Where The Heart Is, Adam has previously appeared alongside David in shorts The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot and 96 Ways To Say I Love You.
Other cast additions are Freddie Thorp and Sam Booth.
Metanoia is a co-production between Gizmo Films and German production company MMC Studios. The movie will cover Laing's ground-breaking work carried out during the 1960s at his unique and controversial community at Kingsley Hall in East London. Filming will take place early in 2016 in London and Cologne with the film currently scheduled for a 2016 release.
