Cover Art Revealed For Marvel's Jessica Jones Original Comic Series Re-Release

Marvel have released previews of the cover art for the reprinted collections of the comic book series that inspired the new Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones.

Alias by Brian Michael Bendis originally appeared under the Marvel MAX imprint. The 28-issue series followed the fortunes of a former superhero, Jessica Jones, who hung up her cape after a traumatic episode and instead set out as a private detective in New York's Hell's Kitchen. The story is aimed at a more adult audience than Marvel's usual fare, exploring a disturbing episode in Jessica's past at the hands of former spy-turned-supervillain Zebediah Killgrave.

The new volumes will be released with new covers by original series cover artist David Mack and will hit stores in September. However, if you can't wait that long the digital version of the collections will be available via ComiXology.com in June.

Writer Bendis said, “I am over the moon excited about the re-release of the Jessica Jones story. These new collections, with brand new David Mack covers, celebrate the history of the character, while at the same time open the door for a new audience that will discover her through Netflix. David Mack’s covers are an essential part of the show’s DNA. With his work featured on the show’s credits, these covers will be the visual connection between the graphic novels and the show.”

When she uncovers the potentially explosive secret of one hero’s true identity, Jessica’s life immediately becomes expendable. But her wit, charm and intelligence just may help her survive another day. Thrust into the midst of a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels, has Jessica burned too many bridges to turn to old friends for help?
