Gracepoint, the American remake of the ITV series Broadchurch will soon be coming exclusively to ITV Encore in the UK.
Gracepoint
New country. New cast. Different ending.
If this picture looks a bit familiar then it's with good
reason. Gracepoint is the US adaptation of the crime drama that took Britain by
storm when it first aired in 2014.
So how does Gracepoint compare to the original? Judge
for yourself when it airs later this year on ITV Encore.
However what we can tell you is that the ending is different to the one viewers
originally got with Broadchurch.
David Tennant reprises his role of Alec Hardy, except this
time around his name is Emmett Carver and he's got an American accent.
Detective Ellie Miller is played by Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad)
and we also get to see a true Hollywood giant in the shape of three-time Oscar
nominee Nick Nolte (48 Hours, Cape Fear) who stars as Jack Reinhold - a role
originally played by David Bradley.
According to Tennant said: "With this show we took a
format that people know and understand and made it fresh, made it different to
anything we'd seen before. We see the consequences of a crime.
"We're used to seeing the serial killer locked up
within 45 minutes. Here we allow the story to develop and the characters worlds
to be investigated. But that only works when the writing is as good as it on
Gracepoint"

The broadcast date has yet to be confirmed; however Sky have launched a new programme microsite that so far includes a cast gallery with an introduction to some of the characters that you'll be meeting during the ten-episode series
