David Tennant To Reprise Role Of Richard II At The Barbican In Winter 2015

David Tennant is to reprise his award winning role as Richard II for the Royal Shakepeare Company as part of a collaboration with the Barbican to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

Antony Sher and Jasper Britton will play Falstaff and Henry IV respectively in the Henry IV plays, and Alex Hassell follows the journey of young Prince Hal to King Henry V.
The event will run between 7 November 2015 and 24 January 2016.

Richard II
Richard is King. A monarch ordained by God to lead his people. But he is also a man of very human weakness. A man whose vanity threatens to divide the great houses of England and drag his people into a dynastic civil war that will last 100 years.

David Tennant played King Richard in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production in 2013-14 at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon and at the Barbican Theatre in London. He was recently honoured with award for Best Actor in a Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards for his performance.
