GRACEPOINT: ITV Confirm Broadchurch Remake To Air On ITV Encore In The UK

ITV have confirmed that they will be broadcasting Gracepoint the US remake of the award-winning Broadchurch on ITV Encore in the UK. In response to an enquiry, they tweeted:

"We will be showing it on ITV Encore. No dates yet but keep an eye on feeds for news and updates."

David Tennant, who played DI Alec Hardy in the original, reprised the role of lead investigator as the story of Broadchurch was transferred to the Californian coast in the ten-part remake. Reinvented as an American detective called Emmett Carver, he once again teamed up with Ellie Miller, here played by Anna Gunn, to solve the mystery of the murder of a twelve year old boy in a small town where anyone could be a suspect. The series follows the same storyline as Broadchurch but introduces new characters and new twists and has a different ending.

Gracepoint, which aired on FOX last autumn, was launched as a one-off event series in the US, although the producers were hopeful of a second season. However, after the show failed to engage audiences, FOX declined to take the series any further. Find out more about Gracepoint on our website.

ITV Encore was launched last year as the channel that gives viewers the opportunity to watch again or discover the best of ITV's recent programming. At the moment it is available exclusively to Sky TV subscribers.

David Tennant is currently appearing in the second series of Broadchurch on ITV on Monday nights.
