The BBC drama United airs on the Drama channel in the UK at 9pm BST tonight.
David Tennant stars as Jimmy Murphy in this drama based on
the true story of Manchester United's legendary Busby Babes, the youngest side
ever to win the Football League, and the 1958 Munich air crash that claimed
eight of their number. The film draws on first-hand interviews with the
survivors and their families to tell the inspirational story of a team and
community overcoming terrible tragedy. Jack O'Connell (Skins, Starred Up) plays Murphy’s young protégé Bobby Charlton,
with Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible
II) as Matt Busby and Sam Claflin (The
Hunger Games) as Duncan Edwards. United was written by Chris
Chibnall and directed by James Strong, the team that went on to reunite with
David Tennant and create the award winning Broadchurch and its
American remake Gracepoint. The drama originally aired in April 2011.
