GRACEPOINT: Finale Ratings Climb As Viewers Tune In For Big Reveal

The final Thursday Live + Same Day US TV ratings for the finale of Gracepoint showed an unsurprising upturn as viewers turned on to watch live. The final episode of the ten-episode drama saw Detective Emmett Carver, played by David Tennant, finally make his arrest in the hunt for the killer of local boy Danny Solano.

Among adults aged 18-49, the show rated 0.9/3, level with the same period last week; however viewer numbers rose from 3.61 million (4th December Live+ Same Day) to 4.01. These were the highest live viewer numbers since the show's premiere back in October which pulled in 4.8m, and actually beat NBC show Bad Judge last night (3.75). The slot winner was Two And A Half Men on CBS with 2.3/7 and 9.30m of 18-49s.

Gracepoint was conceived as a ten-part mini series although the starts and producers have always hinted that should it perform well enough then it could return for a second season. Fans of the show will now have an anxious wait for FOX to make their decision and decide whether the show, which dipped to 0.7 in the ratings mid-season, will be brought back. In its favour, the series has been performing well via catch up viewings, with significant upturns in the Live +3 ratings.
