Moving into the last quarter of the year, October saw David
focusing on his US project Gracepoint
as work on Broadchurch wound up.

Gracepoint
Gracepoint premiered on FOX TV in the USA, on Global in
Canada and on the Universal Channel in Australia.
David talked to Access Hollywood and to HappyCool at the LACMA screening of Gracepoint about why he had wanted to be part of the
series. While in the USA David and Anna Gunn appeared on a number of FOX News
channels to promote the new series; clips are here,

A first set of behind-the-scenes photos were made available
Gracepoint
premiered to modest ratings against Thursday Night Football and ABC’s Scandal.
Subsequent episodes showed a ratings drop although catch up ratings for 3 and 7
days post-broadcast showed that many viewers were recording the show to watch
later.
It was announced that Shine International would be taking Gracepoint to MIPCOM to sell the series
internationally.

What We Did On Our
Holiday took £811k in its opening weekend, passing the £3 million mark by
the end of the month.
German distributors Tobis released a set of new promotional photos and their dedicated website launched.
The Scottish Daily Record posted behind-the-scenes photos. David talked to Magic Radio about the film. Plans for an American release were revealed and the film won
the Audience Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.
The film opened across the United Arab Emirates.
Broadchurch
David and Olivia Colman were spotted filming the second
series in West Bay
As filming drew to a close the entire cast gathered for a
group photo.
Filming officially wrapped on October 12th.
Broadchurch continued
to air in Spain and premiered on SRF Zwei in Switzerland.

Movie
Postman Pat: The Movie
was released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK and Ireland.
Doctor Who
The third issue of the Titan Comics Tenth Doctor comic books
series was released
The Day Of The Doctor
won Gold in the Event Cinema Awards for the live worldwide broadcast events in 2013.
TV
David appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman.
In Denmark The
Politician’s Husband concluded and The
Escape Artist premiered.
Penguins: Spy In The
Huddle continued on PBS in the USA.The series won a Panda Award at the Wildlife Film Festival.
Film
More details emerged about 96 Ways To Say I Love You,
the short film written and directed by Daisy Aitken and starring David. The
film, produced by Georgia Moffett, appeared on the programme of the Berlin
Short Film Festival but was later withdrawn without explanation.
Awards
David and The Escape
Artist were longlisted in the National Television Awards .
David was longlisted for a People’s Choice Award for Best
Actor in a New TV Series
David was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for his performance
in The Escape Artist.
Miscellaneous
David appeared in the Exeter University Students’ Guild’s
Never OK video to speak out against sexual harassment on campus. David also showed his support
for Anthony Head’s It’s Cool To Be Kind animal awareness campaign.
