The Politician's Husband
Emily Watson and David Tennant star in the three-part, three-hour British miniseries, The Politician’s Husband, which follows the shifting fortunes and power dynamics in a marriage in which the personal and political collide. Tennant portrays Aiden Hoynes, a senior cabinet minister who has always put his career before family, with the support of his devoted wife Freya (Watson), mother to the couple’s two young children. Freya, a junior minister, has consistently put her own ambitions on hold for the sake of Aiden’s career and their family. When Aiden’s career path comes to an abrupt halt and Freya’s simultaneously soars, Aiden’s life is turned upside down. In his desperation to cling to power, he risks destroying everything he holds most dear. The cast includes Roger Allam (Endeavour) and Ed Stoppard (Upstairs, Downstairs).
