The second series of the award winning crime drama Broadchurch will air in New Zealand in 2015.
Network TVNZ made the announcement today as they unveiled their programming for the new year. Broadchurch is one of a number of premium new and returning international shows which also includes Call The Midwife, The Big Bang Theory, Gotham, Arrow and The Walking Dead. The first series of Broadchurch aired on TV ONE earlier this year.
The second series of Broadchurch was filmed in the UK earlier this year and sees the return of David Tennant and Olivia Colman in the roles of Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller. Also returning are Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill, Joe Sims and Jonathan Bailey, and they will be joined by a host of new characters played by Charlotte Rampling, Eve Myles, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James D'Arcy, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Meera Syal. The plot is veiled in secrecy, but recent teaser trailers have hinted that the story picks up shortly after the mindblowing events of series one.
Broadchurch 2 is due to premiere on ITV in the UK early in 2015. It will also air on BBC America.
A broadcast date for New Zealand has not yet been confirmed.
