David Tennant made a radio appearance on the NPR show All Things Considered this afternoon to talk about his current FOX TV show Gracepoint. The interview was one of a number of promotional appearances that David is making this week which has also taken in visits to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Kevin And Bean Show and The Queen Latifah Show.
Gracepoint is currently airing on Fox on Thursday nights.
During today's chat, host Robert Siegel compared dialogue from Gracepoint and the original UK series Broadchurch, upon which it is based and in which David also starred in an equivalent role. David explained how the two characters, Scottish detective Alec Hardy and his American counterpart Emmett Carver evolved separately. He also spoke about being recognised for Broadchurch and Gracepoint as well as his more iconic role as the Tenth Doctor.
"It's been lovely to be involved in Broadchurch and
now Gracepoint and find that it gets an almost equal amount of
attention [as Doctor Who]. I feel like I've reached a tipping point where
I'm as known for something else," he says.
Gracepoint airs at 9pm ET on Thursdays on Fox in the
USA and on Global in Canada and at 8.30pm on Fridays on the Universal Channel
in Australia. The gripping drama follows the investigation surrounding the murder of a local boy in a small Californian town where anyone could be a suspect.
