Vote For David Tennant And The Escape Artist In The National Television Awards



The longlists have been announced and the vote is open for the National Television Awards 2015. David Tennant is one of the contenders in the Best Drama Performance category, nominated for his role as barrister Will Burton in the BBC One drama The Escape Artist. The category has some strong competition, including Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) and Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who). 

Also, two of David's projects have made the longlists. The Escape Artist, written by David Wolstencroft is up for Best Drama and will compete against a group which includes both Doctor Who and Sherlock. The spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary W1A starring Hugh Bonneville and Jessica Hynes and narrated by David has made the Comedy list along with Big School and Outnumbered.

The National Television Awards take place each year and the winners are all chosen by TV viewers via millions of votes through email, phone, online and social media.

The longlist vote will remain open until October 26th and the shortlists will be announced in January. Voting will then re-open to allow voters to pick their winners.

The awards will be presented on Wednesday 21st January 2015 at the O2 Arena and tickets are on sale now.  The ceremony will also be televised live on ITV.
