US Ratings: Another Slip For Gracepoint In The Thursday Overnights (Updated)

While the episode 2 Live +3 ratings for Gracepoint gave some hope that viewership of the murder mystery was picking up, certainly in terms of catch up and on-demand services, the numbers unfortunately don't seem to have translated into a new wave of live viewers. This is despite critical recommendation along with an interactive Who Killed Danny online site where fans can share evidence and theories and make their predictions.

Last night's overnights show a further slip in the results, rating 0.8/3 in adults 18-49, down a tenth from last week. This translates to 3.82 million viewers, presently showing a slight rise in actual numbers, although this may yet change as final figures are confirmed.

UPDATED: The Thursday final figures are confirmed as 0.8/2 adults 18-49, 3.7m viewers.

The Live +3 figures, which take into account all catch up viewings during the 3 days following initial broadcast, gave the viewership of episode 2 a boost to 6.6 million earlier this week. Therefore, it's hopeful that this pattern will be repeated for episode 3. Gracepoint is in a challenging slot, up against NFL Thursday Football on CBS and the 9pm slot's top rated show Scandal (ABC), currently attracting over 9m viewers, but the Live +3s suggested that viewers are actually taping the show to watch later.

Gracepoint stars David Tennant and Anna Gunn as the two detectives on the hunt for the killer of a twelve-year old boy in a small Californian town.
