Filming Officially Wraps On Broadchurch 2

Filming finally wrapped on the second series of Broadchurch last night. Series producer Richard Stokes made the announcement by tweet:

Production of the second series has been taking place since May with filming in various locations around the south-east and south-west of England, including Clevedon in Somerset, West Bay and Eype in Dorset and Reading and Bracknell in Berkshire. David Tennant and Olivia Colman return as Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller, along with other series 1 cast members Andrew Buchan, Jodie Whittaker, Arthur Darvill, Joe Sims, Jonathan Bailey and Carolyn Pickles. New faces for series 2 include Charlotte Rampling, James D'Arcy, Eve Myles, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Meera Syal and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

As with series 1, security has been tight: series creator Chris Chibnall has only given away that the plot will not involve another murder mystery. Richard Stokes' tweet reveals that the production has been filming under the title 'Tea And Sympathy'. David Tennant has said that as before the cast have been in the dark with script pages arriving as password protected emails. Early filming scenes appeared to show the exhumation of a body and David has also hinted that the series will also reveal more about Alec Hardy's background.

Broadchurch 2 is expected to air in early 2015 on ITV. BBC America have also acquired the series for broadcast later in the year.
