My Shakespeare
David Tennant on Hamlet
Sky Arts 1, Monday 3rd November, 9pm GMT
Renowned actor David Tennant investigates the Bard's tale of
monarchy, madness, murder and suicide, asking what it is about the play's title
character that remains so compelling 400 years after his creation. He talks to
former Hamlets, including Simon Russell Beale, Jude Law and Ben Whishaw, to
discover some of the challenges of playing the vengeful Danish Prince.
Originally shown on BBC Two, 17th July 2012
The programme is repeated early on Tuesday morning at 1.45am.
David's episode marks a repeat run of the whole first series which also includes episodes presented by Sir Derek Jacobi (Richard II) and Ethan Hawke (Macbeth).
The new series of My Shakespeare, also airing on Sky Arts 1 at 9pm with repeats through the week, has seen Hugh Bonneville on A Midsummer Night's Dream and Kim Cattrall on Anthony And Cleopatra and concludes next Monday with Christopher Plummer on King Lear.
