BBC America have today confirmed that they will air the second series of Broadchurch in 2015. The announcement was made at their Television Critics Association session today. The series is currently shooting in the UK's West Country and sees many of the original cast returning, including David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Arthur Darvill.
BBC America’s General Manager Perry Simon announced that the
award winning drama would be renewed as part of the Dramaville strand.
The new season is once again written by Chris Chibnall and
executive produced by Jane Featherstone of Kudos and Chris Chibnall for
Imaginary Friends. Richard Stokes will produce and James Strong returns to
direct episodes one and two.
David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Arthur Darvill, Andrew Buchan,
Jodie Whittaker, Joe Sims and Jonathan Bailey are all returning along with
exciting new cast additions Charlotte Rampling, Eve Myles, Marianne
Jean-Baptiste, James D’Arcy and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. As before, the shoot is
shrouded in secrecy with little known about the plot or the identities of the
new characters. So far shooting has taken place in Clevedon in Somerset, West
Bay in Dorset and Exeter in Devon and will continue until September. The series
is expected to première on ITV in early 2015 before coming to BBC America.
