David Tennant Expresses His Love For Both Broadchurch And Gracepoint Casts

David has spoken warmly about the casts of both the award-winning UK drama Broadchurch and its American version Gracepoint. David is the only member of the Broadchurch cast involved in the US counterpart, and he will be playing Detective Emmett Carver, essentially the same role as Broadchurch cop Alec Hardy.

However, speaking at last Sunday’s TV Critics Association Gracepoint presentation, he said that he couldn't pick favourites between the two ensemble casts.

"I love deeply everyone from the original cast, but equally I love everyone from the new one, so it would feel wrong to not want all these people to be playing all these parts," he explained.

Gracepoint was filmed entirely on location on Vancouver Island, Canada earlier this year. Now back in the UK, David is partway through filming the second series of Broadchurch in locations that have included West Bay in Dorset, Clevedon in Somerset, Exeter in Devon and Reading in Berkshire. He declined to reveal any details about Broadchurch.

"No I can't,” he stated firmly. “I'd get shot in the head."

Gracepoint will premiere on Fox on Thursday 2^nd October at 9pm/8c. ITV are expected to announce details of a UK broadcast shortly. The cast includes Anna Gunn and Nick Nolte.

The second series of Broadchurch is expected to air early in 2015.
