David Tennant's portrayal as DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch has been voted as one of the most memorable male drama characters of recent time in a poll carried out by YouGov for ITV.
The socially awkward Doc Martin - Martin Clunes and the fastidious Hercule Poirot - David Suchet both tied as the most popular character with 25% of votes each.
DI Alec Hardy - David Tennant, came second with 19% of the votes whilst Law & Order UK's DS Ronnie Brooks - Bradley Walsh and Lewis's DS Robbie Lewis - Kevin Whately both tied in third place with 18% of the votes.
