The Radio Times cover commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who has been shortlisted for a prestigious PPA Award.
Members of the public are invited to vote for their cover of the year. The shortlist for Cover Of The Year is:
- Cosmopolitan - Miley Cyrus issue
- Country Life - HRH Prince Charles as guest editor
- Esquire - The 'Made In Britain' Kate Moss issue
- Harper's Bazaar - The Jennifer Lawrence cover
- Metal Hammer - Slipknot cover
- Radio Times - Doctor Who 50th Anniversary edition
- #studentfarmer - The Stereotypes Edition
- Stylist - Liz Jones - Crazy Cat Lady cover
- The Big Issue - Christmas Special
- Top Gear - 20th Anniversary edition
The Radio Times issue came with twelve very collectable versions of the cover, each featuring one of the Doctors, from William Hartnell to John Hurt. The magazine's publisher said of the edition:
"Everyone has a favourite Doctor Who, so Radio Times
decided to give each one its own cover for the 2013 50th anniversary, so
readers could buy their Doctor. (Even Colin Baker has his fans you know!) There
is only one magazine that serves up classic British television culture this
well, and that’s RT."

The PPA Awards celebrate the UK magazine and business publishing industry, rewarding innovation and excellence across categories including writer, editors, events and design, as well as the top magazine in both the consumer and business sections.
The winner will be revealed at the 2014 PPA Awards ceremony on
Thursday 10th July to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park
Lane, London.
