The winners of the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards, rewarding the very
best in television broadcast on British screens last year, are
announced tonight. Both Broadchurch
and members of its cast are nominated, although David Tennant himself was not
shortlisted for his performance.
Last year's double BAFTA winner Olivia Colman was
shortlisted for Leading Actress for her role as local detective Ellie Miller.
David Bradley was nominated as Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jack
Marshall, the newsagent with a mysterious past. Finally, Broadchurch written by Chris Chibnall and produced by Kudos TV
and Imaginary Friends for ITV, was nominated in the Drama Series category.
Broadchurch and Doctor Who: The Day Of the Doctor are
among the six programmes listed for the Radio Times Audience award, the only prize tonight to
have been decided by members of the public.
