Broadchurch Will Be The Centrepiece Of ITV Encore's Opening Week

The award winning ITV series Broadchurch will be the main attraction in the launch week schedule of ITV Encore. This will be the first UK broadcast of the eight part series since its original showing on ITV last March and April.

ITV Encore, ITV's first new channel in eight years, launches on Sky channel 123 on Monday 9th June. Broadchurch will be shown in double episode slots from Monday to Thursday in the first week.

Other opening week highlights will include Mrs. Biggs, starring Sheridan Smith, crime drama The Ice Cream Girls, Lucan, with Christopher Eccleston and Poirot.

The new ITV subscription channel will be dedicated to celebrating the best of contemporary British ITV drama, and will be home to some of ITV’s most successful series of recent years.The new channel will be available exclusively to Sky customers and content will also be available on other Sky platforms, including catch-up, online and on demand services. ITV’s Director of Television, Peter Fincham said,
“Drama is a genre that we know audiences love, and we have worked with some fantastic talent, both on and off screen, to build a really strong stable of series and serials over the years. ITV Encore will give viewers the opportunity to revisit or indeed to discover, a wealth of ITV drama from recent times.”
