A year ago this week, UK TV audiences discovered the secret behind the gripping drama Broadchurch when, after eight weeks of intense speculation, the identity of Danny Latimer's killer was finally revealed. Since then it has been a busy year for all of the cast and, for David Tennant, there has been the opportunity to reinterpret the series for a fresh audience.
About David's year, Radio Times say:
Name: David
Tennant
Played: DI Alec Hardy
Highlights since Broadchurch:
Played: DI Alec Hardy

The Politician’s Husband (BBC2), The Escape Artist
(BBC1), The Day of the Doctor (BBC1), Richard II (Royal Shakespeare
Theatre and The Barbican), Postman Pat: The Movie (film), What We Did on
Our Holiday (film), Gracepoint (FOX Network)
David Tennant has barely been absent from screens since
his turn as troubled DI Alec Hardy. From leading BBC dramas The Politician's Husband and The Escape Artist to delighting fans in Doctor Who's 50th anniversary, The Day of the Doctor, he has never been
more prominent on British television screens. Ever the chameleon, he took to
the stage to great acclaim as Shakespeare's doomed monarch and lent his voice
to Postman Pat: The Movie. After one
failed attempt at front his own US show in ill-fated pilot Rex is Not Your Lawyer, the lasting legacy of Broadchurch on Tennant's career
will – hopefully – be his impact across the pond when he stars as
Hardy's American equivalent Detective Emmett Carver in Gracepoint, the US remake of Broadchurch, set to hit screens next year.
Since its debut broadcast in March 2013, Broadchurch has been shown by TV networks worldwide, including the USA, Canada, South America, Russia, France, Australia and Scandinavia and it will soon be seen in Italy, Germany and New Zealand. A second UK series goes into production later this spring though cast and plot details have not yet been announced.
