GRACEPOINT: Euros Lyn Joins Vancouver Island Shoot

Another familiar face has joined the production team of Gracepoint on Vancouver Island as UK director Euros Lyn arrives to direct an episode of the US adaptation of Broadchurch.

Welsh director Euros was one of two directors who worked on the original ITV drama Broadchurch when it shot during the summer and autumn of 2012. He is also well known for his work on Doctor Who, Last Tango In Halifax and Torchwood. His Broadchurch colleague James Strong has already directed multiple episodes of the Fox TV adaptation in Canada.

Euros joins a team of directors on the production which also includes Michael Slovis, Ali Selim and David Petrarca.

Gracepoint is a close reworking of Broadchurch, with David Tennant reprising his role as the lead investigator into the killing of a young boy in a sleepy coastal town; however the action has shifted to California and Scottish DI Alec Hardy has become an American detective called Emmett Carver. Other cast include Anna Gunn and Nick Nolte. The drama, which shoots until late May on location on Vancouver Island, BC, will air as part of the Fox TV 2014-15 season. The producers say that although the drama will be largely faithful to the original, viewers can expect some variations and a different ending.
