Doctor Who Special Effects Team Honoured By BAFTA Win



The Special and Visual Effects teams behind the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special, The Day Of The Doctor, picked up the Special, Visual & Graphic Effects BAFTA in the TV Craft Awards this evening. The work was shared by Milk VFX, Real SFX  and The Model Unit.

Other effects teams in the categories were Robert Hollingworth and Jonathan Watts for Micro Monsters with David Attenborough: Predator, Zoo and Fido for David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D and Blue Bolt and Rushes for Peaky Blinders. 

The Day Of The Doctor starred Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt as three incarnations of the Doctor, with Billie Piper, Jenna Coleman, Gemma Redgrave and Joanna Page. The special aired as a global telecast and cinema stream on Saturday 23rd November 2013. 

The winners of the 2014 Television Craft BAFTAs were revealed at a ceremony at The Brewery in London hosted by Stephen Mangan. A full list of winners is available here.
