Celebrating Shakespeare's 450th Birthday: Filming Doctor Who At Shakespeare's Globe

In celebration of the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth today we'll be taking a look back at some of David Tennant's finest Shakespeare-inspired moments.

The Doctor Who crew made a trip from South Wales to London to film the 2007 episode The Shakespeare Code in the recreated Globe Theatre. In this clip, David and other members of the production team, including Russell T. Davies and Phil Collinson, describe working in the iconic theatre and why is was so important to them to be able to have access to the building for filming.

The Shakespeare Code starred David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor with Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones, Dean Lennox Kelly as William Shakespeare and Christina Cole as Lilith. The episode was written by Gareth Roberts and directed by Charles Palmer.
