The Radio Times have today made the claim that ITV are hoping and expecting that the second series of its hit drama Broadchurch will see the return of both of its stars, David Tennant and Olivia Colman.
According to them a source has said, "Olivia will definitely be in the series and the plan is still to have David back.”
Filming is expected to begin in late May on Broadchurch 2 although no cast or plot details have been officially revealed by ITV, production company Kudos TV or writer Chris Chibnall. Olivia Colman has previously suggested that she will be back as Ellie Miller, but interviewed at last week's Broadcasting press Guild Awards she would only say, "The official line is ‘I don’t know’."
David Tennant is currently shooting Gracepoint, the American version of Broadchurch, in Canada; production is expected to wrap on the 10 part event series for Fox on May 23rd.
Locals in West Bay in Dorset which doubled for the fictional town of Broadchurch say that they have been informed that filming will take place in the area once again.
