A new director has been added to Gracepoint, the American adaptation of the award winning ITV series Broadchurch.
David Petrarca, the prolific producer and director of film, television and stage, has signed on to direct at least one episode of the ten part event series. David is known already for his work on Game Of Thrones, Big Love and True Blood. He joins episode 1 director James Strong, who also worked on Broadchurch, on the creative team.
David Tennant stars in Gracepoint, reprising the role of the detective leading an investigation into the suspicious death of a young boy in a coastal Californian town. He is joined by Anna Gunn, Kevin Zegers, Sarah-Jane Potts, Nick Nolte and Mark Peña. The drama follows the consequences of the tragic event on a close community which finds itself under the scrutiny of the police and the press.
Chris Chibnall, the creator of the award winning UK series
has written the first episode of the drama and will be executive
producing. Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein of In Treatment fame are also on board as
executive producers as are John Goldwyn (Dexter), Shine America's Carolyn Bernstein and Jane Featherstone from drama
producer Kudos. Gracepoint is produced by Shine America in association
with Kudos and Imaginary Friends. It is due to air on Fox as part of the 2014-15
season.
