Die dreiteilige Miniserie von BBC One The Escape Artist mit David Tennant wird am 18. März 2014 am DVD in Deutschland erscheinen. The DVD von StudioCanal hat eine englische und deutsche Tonspur.

Strafverteidiger Will Burton (David Tennant) hat noch nie einen Fall vor Gericht verloren: scherzhaft nennt man ihn "The Escape Artist". Bei seiner Arbeit ist ihm nur der Erfolg wichtig, nicht die Moral.

Als er den eines grausamen Mordes beschuldigten Liam Foyle (Toby Kebbell) aufgrund eines Formfehler vom Haken bekommt, meldet sich trotzdem sein Gewissen: Nach dem Verfahren kann er ihm nicht einmal die Hand schütteln, denn er hält ihn für schuldig. Das hat weitreichende Konsequenzen, denn nun hat Foyle anscheinend Burton und seine Familie im Auge.

Criminal Defense Lawyer Will Burton (David Tennant) has never lost a case in court: jokingly he is called "The Escape Artist". In his work, only winning is important to him, not the morality.

When he gets Liam Foyle (Toby Kebbell), the accused in a gruesome murder, off the hook through a technical loophole, his conscience is pricked: after the trial, he can not even shake hands with him, because he thinks he's guilty. This has far-reaching consequences, for now Foyle apparently has Burton and his family in mind.

The series is created by television writer David Wolstencroft and directed by Brian Welsh.
