Richard II Starring David Tennant To Be Released On DVD
The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Richard II will be released on DVD. Director Gregory Doran made the announcement this evening during the Director's talk at the Royal Shakepeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The production, which is currently in previews, opens in Stratford on Thursday night. It runs until 16th November 2013 before transfering to the
Barbican Theatre in London
from December 9th 2013 until 25th January 2014. David Tennant stars as King Richard with Nigel Lindsay as Bolingbroke, Oliver Ford Davies as the Duke of York, Michael Pennington as John of Gaunt and Jane Lapotaire as the Duchess of Gloucester. John Wyver of Illuminations will be producing a live stream of the play into cinemas across the UK on Wednesday 13th November; this recording will also be broadcast into UK schools and cinemas worldwide during the following months.
