Billie Piper has been interviewed by Jan Gilbert of Flicks
And The City during her appearance at London Film and Comic Con yesterday. Billie,
who will next be seen on TV in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special The Day
Of The Doctor revealed that she couldn’t wait for the show to air so that she
could answer questions about it
“I’m just looking forward to the fans being able to finally
see it really, because there’s so much relentless questioning about what is
about to happen and I can’t say anything, so it’ll be nice to get rid of that
burden of that enormous secret,” she said
Billie will be returning to the show with Rose Tyler
alongside David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor for the episode, although it’s not
the first time she has been back since leaving the show in 2006. Was she
anxious after such a big gap this time?
“I never feel that anxious about returning because I’m
friends with a lot of people, I’ve built some really good relationships and I
always know that it’s going to be beautifully written,” she said. “I think you’re
kind of anxious on the first day in terms of getting back into the character
and whether you’ve still got it there. Otherwise it’s a pretty seamless and
enjoyable occasion.”
Billie and David join the current TARDIS crew
Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman for the special. Billie spoke about what it was like filming with both
the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors together
“Matt’s a really good friend of mine and David’s a really
good friend of mine so it was quite funny being on set with both of them, and
having to talk to both of them and not leaving anyone out!”
See Billie talk about Doctor Who rumours, the casting of
Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and what’s in store for her in the future
