David Tennant stars as Will Burton, a highly successful barrister whose perfect life is turned upside-down when he takes on the defence of the accused in a particularly gruesome murder trial. Writer David Wolstencroft has created a drama that at first glance appears to be just another legal series but which rapidly becomes something much darker.
