VIDEO: David Tennant Interviewed At The Sunshine On Leith Gala Screening

Red Carpet News have posted a video interview of David Tennant at the premiere Sunshine On Leith, the new film based on Stephen Greenhorn's musical of the same name featuring songs by The Proclaimers.

Unashamed Proclaimers fan David said, "I'm very proud, very proud that it's Scottish but more proud that it's The Proclaimers who I've been passionately in love with...I'm a proper hardcore Proclaimers fan!"

Of the band he said, "There's something very uncynical about them, there's something open-hearted and glorious and emotional and accessible, and great tunes, great lyrics, and they are sort of fiercely uncool, which just makes them all the more adorable"

The gala event was staged by chef and producer Jamie Oliver in honour of the film's director Dexter Fletcher. Other guests included singer Pixie Lott, Blur's cheese making bass player Alex James and presenter Jonathan Ross.

The film starring George Mackay, Kevin Guthrie, Jason Flemyng, Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks goes on general release on Friday 4th October.
