The 2008 episode of Doctor Who, The Fires Of Pompeii is currently available for free on iTunes for a limited period via the UK, US, Canadian and Australian stores.
Reunited after seeing off the Adipose, the Doctor and Donna travel back to 79AD and find themselves in Pompeii on the eve of the eruption of Vesuvius. But with people slowly turning into stone, a sinister cult on the loose and something nasty in the hypocaust the Doctor and Donna can't just turn around and leave. And besides, the TARDIS has been sold as a piece of modern art.
The Fires Of Pompeii was written by James Moran and directed by Colin Teague and was filmed on location at Cinecittà Studios in Rome. The episode is notable for featuring the first Doctor Who appearances for two of the series' future stars: Peter Capaldi (The Twelfth Doctor) as Caecilius and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) as a Soothsayer.
