ODEON Cinemas In The UK To Screen Richard II

ODEON cinemas in the UK are the latest chain to announce selected venues that will be screening the live stream of Richard II from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon on November 13th.

Richard II - RSC Live 2013

An exciting new season from the Royal Shakespeare Company starts with 'Richard II - RSC Live 2013', the sellout production of Richard II (the fastest selling show in the RSC's history), with David Tennant in the title role and directed by RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran.

Richard is King, ordained by God to lead his people. But he is also a man of very human weakness. A man whose vanity threatens to divide the great houses of England and drag his people into a dynastic civil war that will last 100 years.

Broadcast live to ODEON cinemas, 'Richard II - RSC Live 2013' is the first ever live cinema broadcast from the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Richard II will also be streamed to cinemas in North America, Northern Europe, Japan and Australia. Venues and dates will be announced later this month on the RSC On Screen site

Richard II opens at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on 10th October 2013 and will run untill 16th November 2013. It will then transfer to the Barbican Theatre in London from December 9th 2013 until 25th January 2014. The production also stars Nigel Lindsay as Bolingbroke, Michael Pennington as John of Gaunt and Oliver Ford Davies as the Duke of York. Tickets are still available for some London dates, bookable through the RSC or the Barbican Box Offices.
