Heathrow Airport is to be invaded by Daleks, Cybermen and more this week as they join in the celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who.
From tomorrow, passengers who are travelling through the airport will have the chance to see aliens, props, Tardis photobooths and – for launch day only – the London Philharmonic Orchestra, who will be performing themes from the show in Terminal 5.
Doctor Who novelist Jenny Colgan, author of the recently released Doctor Who: Dark Horizons, will also be signing books for fans on the day.
The event, which is a partnership between BBC Worldwide and Heathrow, is aimed at promoting Doctor Who as both Britain’s cultural identity and best export with visitors from 180 destinations around the world.
Speaking about the Heathrow event, Steven Moffat said: “We are delighted to announce another extension to Heathrow's world-beating facilities - all of space and time in a stylish blue box, complete with phone. Heathrow with time travel - nobody need ever be late again.”
