Will Mellor Hopes For A Broadchurch Return

Broadchurch actor Will Mellor hopes that he will be called back to the second series of the hit ITV drama. Will, who played self-proclaimed psychic Steve Connelly in the series, told the Sunday Express that he has no idea whether his character will reappear or not.

"The writer is keeping his cards close to his chest," he said, "But maybe if there's another inquiry the police might employ Steve Connolly to help with the case."

He would also enjoy the opportunity to work with Olivia Colman again."She is by far the most talented actress I've ever met. Working with someone like that makes you raise your game. And that's all I want to do."

Will also believes that his role in Broadchurch has helped him to be seen as more than a sitcom star, as will his new Channel 4 drama series Dates, which co-stars Sheridan Smith.

"Broadchurch was great for me," he says, "I don't want to be tied to comedy - I want to keep every door open and do something that scares me a little bit."

Broadchurch, starring Will with David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Jodie Whittaker is now available on DVD - click here to order. The series premières on BBC America on Wednesday 7th August at 10pm ET/PT as part of Dramaville and will screen in Australia later this year.
