Richard II RSC On Screen Tickets Go On General Sale Today



Tickets for the live screening of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Richard II starring David Tennant and Oliver Ford Davies go on sale to the general public today. RSC and Picturehouse members booking has been available since 3rd June. Tickets are booked directly with participating cinemas.

The RSC and Picturehouse Cinemas have joined forces to screen productions live from Shakespeare's home town for the first time. Richard II  will be screened live from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on Wednesday 13th November into cinemas around the UK.

The RSC advise that other screens will be added shortly and recommend signing up to their site to receive updates. Additionally, many of the Picturehouse cinemas have added encore screenings in the days following the live stream: check locally for dates.

The performance will also be streamed to cinemas in North America, Northern Europe, Australia and Japan. Details and venues are to follow this month.

Richard II opens at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on the 10th October 2013 and runs till 16th November before transferring to the Barbican Theatre, London  (9th December 2013 - 25th January 2014). Directed by Gregory Doran it stars David Tennant as King Richard, Nigel Lindsay as Bolingbroke, Oliver Ford Davies as the Duke Of York and Michael Pennington as John of Gaunt. Tickets for Stratford-upon-Avon are sold out; most London dates are still available and can be booked via the Barbican Theatre
