Richard II On Screen - Update For International Audiences



The RSC say that they will release details of the international cinema screenings of Richard II by July. The production, starring David Tennant, Oliver Ford Davies, Nigel Lindsay and Michael Pennington, will be filmed live from the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday 13th November, and streamed into cinemas in the UK and around the world. The screening will also include behind the scenes footage, some of which will be filmed live on the night.

Tickets for the live UK screening went on general sale from Monday and the RSC have posted details of over 100 participating screens on their website.

The production will also be screened in North America, Northern Europe, Japan and Australia - venues, times and dates will soon be added to the page. The RSC advise signing up to their site for updates

Pupils in more than 1000 UK schools will be able to view the production for free on Friday 15th November when the recording will be streamed directly into classrooms.

Gregory Doran will direct David Tennant in Richard II at Stratford-upon-Avon from 10th October - 16th November 2013. The production then transfers to the Barbican Theatre in London from 9th December 2013 - 25th January 2014. Tickets are still available for London dates - visit their website for more details
