Ticket sales for the live stream from Stratford-upon-Avon of Richard II have been so successful that many of the Picturehouse cinemas running the event are now adding encore screenings to their calendar. So if you are a member who missed out yesterday or have to wait for the start of general sales on Monday, don't worry, you are still in with a chance of seeing what promises to be an outstanding event.
To check whether your local cinema will be holding extra screenings and to book tickets, visit the Live from Stratford-upon-Avon pages on the RSC website and then click through to your selected screen. Use the calendar feature under the Coming Soon tab to find further Richard II dates in November.
Picturehouse and RSC members' booking is open now (RSC members by phone only). Public booking will open on Monday June 17th.
Richard II, directed by Gregory Doran and starring David Tennant, Oliver Ford Davies, Michael Pennington and Nigel Lindsay will be filmed live on multiple cameras from the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on November 13th. As well as the live stream to UK cinemas, it will also be screened free to 1000 UK schools on November 15th and also shown in cinemas in North America, Northern Europe, Japan and Australia. Venues for the international screenings are expected to be confirmed by mid June. The RSC advise signing up on their site for updates.
